Driven by a fierce commitment to human rights and preventive health, FUHSIMSA teamed up with the End Harmful Practices Initiative Nigeria and the Trailblazer Initiative Nigeria to execute a powerful, multi-layered Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) awareness outreach.
The targeted campaign aimed to completely dismantle deep-rooted myths surrounding harmful cultural practices through direct, grassroots education.
The outreach combined two distinct operations for maximum impact: a physical sensitization drive that directly engaged local community members at the busy Ila Market Square, followed by an impactful educational workshop at St. Julius High School. By educating young students on the severe human rights and medical implications of FGM, the joint effort successfully empowered the next generation with the knowledge required to advocate for bodily autonomy and community health equity.
